I help companies build the DSP foundations of commercial instruments, effects, and real-time audio engines. My work focuses on technical rigor, sound quality, and musical response in performance-critical algorithms that ship in production software and hardware. Since 2015 I have contributed to dozens of successful commercial products including synthesizers, audio effects, studio tools, smartphones, hardware and software platforms, and medical applications, collaborating with companies all around the world.
Work together
I typically collaborate in three ways:
- Licensing ready-made DSP algorithms from Brickworks and Brickworks Pro
- Custom DSP design and development for bespoke instruments and effects
- Hybrid approach, combining licensed algorithms with custom development to maximize results while minimizing effort
My strongest focus areas include:
- Synthesizers and audio effects
- Virtual-analog circuit modeling
- Nonlinear and time-variant systems
- Advanced antialiasing techniques
For custom or complex projects, I follow a milestone-based workflow:
- Specification gathering — understanding technical and product requirements
- Proposal — clear schedule, fixed per-project pricing, and milestone deadlines
- Delivery & validation — clients have a period to test and provide feedback on each milestone
- Mutual safeguards — penalties for late delivery (my side) or late payment (client side)
All work includes:
- Full source code
- Liberal IP terms — no vendor lock-in, third-party collaboration allowed under reasonable conditions, and the right to continue using the code even if I cease operations
- No hidden or recurrent costs — all pricing is fixed per project
- Unlimited bug fixing — issues discovered during or after delivery are resolved at no additional cost within a reasonable support period
